Capstar Oral Flea Treatment for Medium & Large Dogs (11–57 kg)
Capstar is an oral flea treatment for medium and large dogs weighing 11–57 kg (25–125 lbs). The active ingredient is nitenpyram. Following a single dose, the active ingredient begins killing adult fleas within 30 minutes of administration. Dead fleas may be observed on the coat following treatment, indicating the product is working.
Capstar is formulated as a palatable oral tablet that can be given directly or with food. It is approved for use in dogs and puppies weighing 2 pounds or more and at least 4 weeks old, per label guidelines. Capstar addresses active adult fleas on the animal at the time of dosing. It does not provide ongoing environmental flea control and should be used as part of a broader flea management plan. Follow all label dosing and safety instructions.
