Ruffwear Hitch Hiker™ Leash

The Hitch Hiker™ is a climbing‑inspired, adjustable‑length leash and hitching system that converts on the fly from a hand‑held leash to a hands‑free waist setup or a secure hitch around a post. With 12 feet of strong kernmantle rope and the ergonomic HitchLock™ rope adjuster, you can seamlessly switch between long line and short lead while maintaining control. The system uses a light, lockable Crux Clip™ for a secure connection to your dog’s collar or harness and features a durable stow bag to keep rope tails tidy during transport.

Materials and construction: 7 mm reflective kernmantle rope enhances visibility in low light; bag shell is bluesign® approved 150D polyester ripstop with DWR and PU coating; hardware is anodized 6061-T6 aluminum. The stow bag keeps rope tails contained and measures 6 x 7 x 2 inches, while the waist belt accommodates up to 49 inches. Slack must be adjusted by hand, and the HitchLock™ provides braking action when tensioned.
